The Top Down Icelandic Sweater

I am sure this sweater would look better with snow in the background, however today was another beautiful fall day.

Here is the finished sweater I knit taking  Craftsy Class:  The Top-Down Icelandic Sweater. Craftsy.com
The Yarn is Lopi and from a kit on the Craftsy website.
Interesting how the yarn softened after a soak and block per class instructions.

Designer Ragga Eiríksdóttir

I learned some "new to me techniques." How to Steek, a new ribbing, new cast on, working with three colors together.

A Pair of Sock's and a Quilt

Enjoyed working with this yarn. The colors are fantastic for a pair of men’s socks. Didn’t try to match

Sock Monkey Blanket & Mondo Cable Cardi

Using some of the material from the Fat Quarters grab bag. Noted in previous blog made this sock monkey quilt for Landon

Evened up the fabric strips.  Navy blue for the boarder and a variety of the decorative stitches for the quilting. Brown Minky for the backing.
Quilt size: 41 x 51inches. Would have been nice to have a real sock monkey to sit on top of quilt for the photo's.

Crochet Blanket's Today and From the Past

Using left over yarn crocheted a large granny square blanket

Double crochet and two double crochets in the corners

Certainly different colors and style used for the above blanket compared to the crochet blanket below from the 60's from my  mother in law's belongings.
